Photobook FAQ

Question: I sent my pictures to you once, they are also on this new site, but they are owned by administrator, not me.
Answer: I moved a lot of pictures from the old site to this one without knowing the email addresses of the owner, some were sent to me through snail mail, others years ago and I don't keep track of every email sent to me. They can be claimed by registering first and then contacting me to  tell me which album belongs to you. We'll then figure things out from there.
QuestionI would like my pictures on the site, but I only have real pictures, nothing digital... Can you help?
Answer: If there is absolutely no way for you to get your pictures scanned, contact me and we will find a way to work things out.
Question: Can I just put whatever pictures I want in my photo album?
Answer: Well, it's an Angelman Syndrome picture book, so if you have a link to the AS community you are welcome to register and share the pictures you like. I suppose family pictures are the ones most people will post, but pictures of some device someone uses are equally suitable. I don't have a policy about what is allowed and what not, I trust in common sense.
Question: Do I have to make sure the pictures are in the correct size first?
Answer: No, the pictures are automatically resized to a maximum size defined by me (1024 x 1024 at the time of writing this) and also to a size that fits nicely on the page + a thumbnail.
Question: Is there a limit to how many pictures I can put on the site?
Answer: There is a limit in how much space a member's pictures can use. It's at 512 Kb for the moment. That should get you between 5 and 10 pictures easily. If you resize them to 800 or so as max width / height and to a qualtiy of 72 DPI, more than that should be possible too.
Question: I am looking for pictures of a particular person that I know are on this site somewhere. Wat is the easiest way to locate them?
Answer: Use the "Search The Gallery" function or the normal “Search” function. Album titles and photo descriptions are automatically indexed, so a search on the name should get you there in most cases.
